TEDx Cairo University
No one can deny that TEDx talks are one of the most inspirational things a person can possibly witness!
Recently TEDx Cairo University’s event took place, and their theme was Decipher. Valuable talks and beautiful performances were given. The event as usual was extremely positive and meaningful. The thing about TEDx talks is that they always teach acceptance and they always allow their audience to open their minds to new possibilities and new ideas. This year was very diverse when it came to the talks and performances. Percussion Show gave one hell of a drum based performance, and they weren’t the only performance of the night! 7araket Watar also gave an impressive performance and Dalia El Gharib, as well, gave us a taste of her talent. The performances were magical and in some cases, literally magical. Amr Khaled, the wonderful illusionist, shocked the audience with his incredible abilities.
TEDx Cairo University’s talks addressed topics that were very important to discuss. Marwan Abdeen spoke about the concept of learning cycles, while Aya Nasser Ali spoke about neuro-psychiatric disorders and how our culture addresses that topic. Mohamed Maher tricked the audience into a sentimental talk. Ja ilan Yasser spoke about stereotyping and prejudice, while Ahmed Hamdy introduced people to the process of processtence. Other speakers as well gave inspirational talks, like Ahmed Samir, who is the founder of Egychology, Youssef Ibrahim, from Shell Eco Marathon team, and Alaa Saeed, who expressed her passion for photography.
This event is a constant reminder that we as a younger generation have a voice, a loud one. A voice that will be heard as long as we choose to speak out as often as possible. All the speakers had an important message to give; a message worth the while, and they did exactly just that in such a beautiful way. Congratulations to all the speakers and performers for the great job that they gave and to TEDx for another successful event!
This week, you’ll get to know the speakers a little bit more because we’re featuring some of them individually on homo-sapiens! Each one of these people has an inspirational story to tell and we’re giving you front-seat tickets.
